Noticed with new theme "improvements" on 3/3/11 nightly.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Click on the Minefield/Firefox button to open the menu.
2) Hover over the arrow of a splitmenu button without hovering over the main menu item - but not for too long!
3) Before the submenu can pop up, move to the main menu item.

Expected results:
1) The state of the arrow button defaults initially to the pre-submenu hover state.
2) When the submenu appears the arrow button fully activates (as it would normally do if you hovered over the main menu item).

Actual results:
1) The arrow button completely loses the hover state for a second or so, while the main menu item activates its hover state.
2) When the submenu appears, suddenly the arrow button pops into the fully activated state.

I'm sorry my terminology is not quite right, this splitmenu thing is a new element to me.
Confirmed on latest nightly. (OS: Win7 64bit)
