This will parallel the 'reboots' bug for n900's, where generally a failed n900 needs a re-image, not just a reboot.
Check with releng for priority - for the most part this should be done when there's time and the list is long, much like the regular reboots bug.

can i close this bug out?
Comment 6•14 years ago

I think John Ford found 031 ?
We should track down 065 and either take it out of nagios/inventory or find it/image it.
Other than that, thank you :) Once 031 and 065 are either dealt with or spun off to separate bugs, we can close this.

Spencer, can you do a re-image with jhford watching over your shoulder? I suspect they're just fiddly and unhappy to be fed by a new zookeeper.

I have just re-imaged n900-011 and n900-20 but n900-84 has been having problems, it dosent hold a charge. Every time I take it out of the rack it dies, even after a full weekends charge. Ive checked power adapter and its plugged in.
Comment 16•14 years ago
|
||
it is possible that the power adapter is either fried or unplugged. We should trace the wires back and see if this is the case.
Alternatively, we can look into ordering a new battery for it.

N900-065 has been found and re-imaged,
n900-084 is still not working properly

n900-068 failed ping, too.
None of these are re-appearing in Nagios when they come back up, so they need some additional looking-at.

n900-011
n900-020
has just been re-imaged, hope it works this time, also as stated before n900-084's battery was dead again once i walked in, im pretty sure its not the battery because ive swapped it with different n900's before. It might just be the phone or the power adapter.

Well, if these are a lost cause, we should remove them from inventory, nagios, etc., and destroy them. Not just leave them hanging.

Spencer- You should have Aki or jhford take a look at them before you write them off.
