User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.15) Gecko/20110303 Firefox/3.6.15 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.15) Gecko/20110303 Firefox/3.6.15 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)

I downloaded Firefox 4 beta, install went fine, clicked on shortcut it placed on desktop. It opens fine at first but then it just stays in the loading stage and says "transferring data from i.ytimg.com..) I have uninstalled, reinstalled (normal and custom), right clicked and ran as administrator and issue continues. No matter what I do it just says transferring data from i.ytimg.com.. and will not let me click on anything on the window except for the minimize/close/restore down buttons. I uninstalled FF4 and downloaded 3.6 and issue no longer happens.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Download FF4
2.Try and pull up your igoogle homepage (if you have one)
3.it will just sit there with the little loading icon spinning and at the bottom of screen say "transferring data from i.ytimg.com.."
Actual Results:
FF4 would not let me click on anything except for the minimize, restore down, or close buttons. Also, after closing I would have to physically go to ctrl+shift+Esc and end process to close it all the way otherwise when I tried to open a new window it would say that FF is already running.

Expected Results:
Let me browse the internet using FF4
Does the issue still occur if you start Firefox in Safe Mode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode

How about with a new, empty profile? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Basic+Troubleshooting#Make_a_new_profile

Does the issue occur with the latest nightly? http://nightly.mozilla.org/

You don't happen to have the McAfee Site Advisor addon installed do you?
From email: It works in safe mode. I’m manually installing my old add-ons right now but can’t seem to remember all of them. Not a big deal, I only really used a few. I added add blocker plus but for some reason I can’t find interclue now. I’ll mess around with FF4 and see if I notice anything else giving me issue. But at least it’s up-and-running now.

Hi Ross

Please can you copy and paste the below as a reply to the original bug, otherwise it gets hard for everyone else to follow.

Another technique that might help you, is to use your original profile, but run it in safe mode, disable all addons, then slowly renable them one by one (restarting Firefox after each, but this time in normal mode, not safe mode), to see which one breaks it:
http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode

As above though, please reply to the original bug, not this email:

Thanks,

I’m still messing with it and trying it out. I can’t remember all the old add ons I was using. I had close to 15 I think…although I didn’t use all of them.
In regards to "Does the issue occur with the latest nightly? http://nightly.mozilla.org/."

Yes, it works fine with this. I enabled all my plug-ins and it works. Still looking for some add-ons though. How can I pull up a list of what I had with 3.6?
- Close Firefox
- Open the profile manager to go back to the old profile (the same one you used to make the new profile), you may have to try and start Firefox 4 once (even though you know it probably won't work still)
- Then use the instructions above to enter safe mode using the old profile
- Once firefox open, go to the addons manager and see what is there. Press disable on everything, and restart Firefox.
- You should now be able to use Firefox in normal mode (not safe mode)
- Enable your addons one by one until the culprit is found.
- Once the culprit is found, you may need to use safe mode again to get back in to disable/remove that addon
- Reply here with with which addon was the cause, so we know for reference

Thanks!
INVALID as it's an extension bug, not a Firefox issue

I never created a new/empty profile. Safe mode got it up and running. I then installed http://nightly.mozilla.org/ and restarted FF4. I then went to Firefox>Add-ons>Plugins and enabled everything one by one. FF4 still work in regular mode. Safe mode no longer needed.

What is weird is that my spyware doctor tab shows up next to the URL tab but the McAfee site adviser tab in no longer there. The Norton 360 tab is also gone to. It would auto fill in user names & passwords for sites I wanted it to. I think it must have been one of those two that was causing this issue.

You enables plugins, not addons. They are two totally different things.
Your extensions are still disabled, which is why Mcaffe and Norton are both gone.
Firefox has a default user name and password filler without the bloat and issues of the norton bar.
