User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:2.0b12) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0b12
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:2.0b12) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0b12

I'm not familiar with the code behind the problem, but I had to use my built in Internet Explorer to modify my linksys settings with Firefox. I would modify my settings (trying to set up a WEP password), and then hit save settings, and it would go to a page 192.168.1.1/wireless.ti or something like that, and just hang there. In internet explorer, it would go to the same page, but it wouldn't just be a white screen with nothing going on. It would tell me that my settings have been saved. It was impossible to modify my settings with firefox.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to 192.168.1.1
2. Modify linksys settings
3. Hit save settings
Actual Results:
The browser went to a white page and would not save the settings for when I navigated back to my IP address.

Expected Results:
It should have saved my settings and returned to the linksys settings page.
I assume that this problem is a lack of functionality in the new firefox 4 beta. I didn't go back to 3 to see if this would work with it, because I uninstalled it when I got 4. I assume firefox 3 wouldn't have this problem.
Does the issue still occur if you start Firefox in Safe Mode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode

How about with a new, empty profile? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Basic+Troubleshooting#Make_a_new_profile

Does the issue occur with the latest nightly? http://nightly.mozilla.org/

What linksys router do you have? What firmware version? Is there an updated version?

This issue is still present (more or less) in FF6 and most likely all other versions that come with the "Do Not Track" option found in the Privacy tab. It's the main reason I don't use the Tracking setting in Firefox. I've tested with two WRT120N's, a Belkin router (forgot model but it's an old G router) and a Netgear WN2000RPT and only the Linksys was affected.

--------------------------------

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to 192.168.1.1 or designated Router IP adress
2. Log in
3. Make changes and save settings

Actual Results:
Login screen reopens no matter how many times you enter the username and password. Hit cancel and get a "401 Authorization Required; Browser not authentication-capable or authentication failed."

Expected Results:
Should have gained access to the router.

-------------------------------

I've tried disabling addons, Safe Mode, fresh profile, Windows 7/Vista/XP, MAC, and it replicates in them all. Same thing happens when I log in then turn on tracking settings. Tested with IE, Chrome, and Safari with no problem.

I actually had this problem from the first time the Tracking setting was introduced (iirc FF4 Beta) but figured it would be resolved eventually so I didn't bother mentioning it. Also since the Netgear and Belkin work fine I'd suggest people test whatever Linksys product/router they have available to them (may not be limited to one model.
There are some open bug reports on the Do Not Track header causing issues with Routers...

These are problems with the code used in the router. Have you contacted Linksys support?

I'm not able to reproduce the error in FF 29 mac regardless of Do Not Track settings. Closing unless someone can confirm it is still a problem.
