.com error with document .write() and parser
Loading this URL in the latest Firefox 4 nightly build, the page content loads, appears, and then quickly disappears from view. Error console includes the following warning: Warning: An unbalanced tree was written using document.write() causing data from the network to be reparsed. For more information https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Optimizing_Your_Pages_for_Speculative_Parsing Source File: http://basslegend.deviantart.com/art/MINECRAFT-199767141 Line: 34 In a completely new profile, I see this same warning multiple times (with different files and/or line numbers) for a single page load, but my standard profile that includes Adblock and NoScript only shows the warning once. Messing around with Stylish userstyles that use the XUL namespace can get the page content to display without having to reload the page, but the next reload makes the content invisible again. I haven't been able to reproduce this on any other deviantArt pages that I've tried, so I'm not quite sure what's going on.
Hrm. I set html5.parser.enable and html5.offmainthread to false and restarted Firefox. I no longer see that "unbalanced tree" warning in error console, but that URL's content still disappears...
Even more hrm (with apologies for bugspam, if anyone's getting it). If I have Echofon's Firefox extension installed and logged in to a Twitter account, having Echofon's statusbar icon change from just the icon to the icon and a number (so that there's unread tweets present), it shows the page's content.
hmm that sounds very similar to https://miketaylr.com/posts/2014/08/document-writing-zeptos.html I'm closing this. I have no issue with the content. Also I think Echofon is RIP.
