Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:2.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:2.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0
If I open my main profile Via the taskbar tile and select my profile from profile manager. Then open a second profile via Run -no-remote. The first profile will crash within a few minutes. Leaving no crash report.
If I reopen Via Run -no-remote the older of the two windows will crash.
All tabs have been recovered from crashed session's.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open default profile your normal way.
2.Open a second profile from run, buy entering: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe -P profilename -no-remote
3. wait 1-5 min and first profile closes quietly (crashes). Leaving no crash report.
Actual Results:
The first profile I opened crashed.
Expected Results:
Keep running 2 profiles in separate windows.
Happens every time with FF4 RC1 for both profiles. I can run 4 and 3.6.whatever with no problems.
Also not sure if this is related but I can't make a shortcut with the target: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe -P profilename -no-remote
It comes up with the "this address does not exist" box. Or "please check the path and name are correct".
still happens with two new clean profiles

Can confirm. Disabling the Flash plugin is a 'workaround' for now. Opening "pogo.com" in both instances will cause an immediate crash in the older of the 2 instances.

WORKSFORME
4.0pre (2011-04-02) fixed the problem for me.
Anything earlier (4.0pre 2011-04-01 or older) fails.
Was fixed as marked in the Dup. But is playing up again since final release.
Works ok if different versions are used in each window/profile. (alternate workaround)
Disabling Flash is not a good workaround for me as I am using multiple profiles to play FB games with lots of flash.....
I wish I could help more on this, as it's been driving me nuts for over a year now. But all the talk in the Dup goes right over my head....
There used to me a multiple profile Add-on for this but it is not compatible since version 3. I miss that add-on....
Ryan, do you have a link to the download site for the version you speak of?

Joel, sorry didn't see your reply. Yes, you can find the latest "4.0" Firefox here, also called Minefield: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-mozilla-2.0/
You should not need anything other than that.
If you need further help with setting up the profiles, you have my permission to contact me at my personal email address.
