Now that we've decided to use HTML for the content on the Kuma wiki instead of using wikitext, we should try to offer a way for people to write in wikitext and save in HTML as a one-time, unidirectional thing. This would serve two purposes: 1. It would make migrating content from other wikis (such as wikimo) easier. 2. It would help people who don't like working in HTML or WYSIWYG. Ideally you could write in wikitext, hit a preview button that would convert to HTML and show it to you, but keep working in wikitext until satisfied before doing the final conversion and saving your changes. Once saved, future work would need to be done in HTML, but at least people could do their initial contributions in wikitext if they wanted to.

This is a big investment so I doubt we can include it for Kuma 2.0. Marshaling wiki and HTML markup took SUMO an extra 2-3 months of development.
Yeah, I wouldn't expect it for the initial launch of Kuma 2.0, but if we can do something with it later, that would make a number of people happy.
