User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:2.0.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:2.0.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0 On the RTM tasks page ( http://www.rememberthemilk.com/home/$USER/#section.tasks ) there is an info box on the right which has a custom scroll behaviour: a scroll is triggered shortly after the page itself is scrolled. The scrolling of the info box is extremely slow, i.e. takes 3-4 seconds to scroll instead of 0.5 seconds and one CPU core is pegged by the Xorg process during the scroll. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Login in to Remember the Milk 2. Navigate to the tasks page 3. Scroll down Actual Results: Scrolling is fast, CPU usage is low. Expected Results: Scrolling is slow, CPU usage is hig. Using the NVidia driver version 260.19.44 with a GeForce 8400 GS , xorg 7.6 , KDE 4.6 with KWin enabled. I have reproduced this in Safe mode as well.
Disabling desktop effects does not improve the situation.
Is this issue similar to the one reported in bug 629234?
With the nv driver scrolling is smooth for both RTM and Launchpad, so the seem to be related.
