User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0 When the Ctrl+F bar is displayed, hovering the pointing device over a link displays its target in the bottom right of the content. Status messages are displayed there as well. This moving around makes it annoying to scan for where the link target is displays. This overlay should preserve its location - lower left corner of the content. The only possible justification I can conjure for this bottom left-right jump is that the Find bar has some text in its left side too. However, I don't see how that would be a problem. I've been using the normal status display (in the status bar) with the Find bar displayed, for years, and was never bothered by it. While not finding the link target in the lower-left corner turned out to be annoying. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Press Ctrl+F to display the Find bar. 2. Hover over a link. Actual Results: Notice the status/link overlay is displayed in the bottom right corner of the content. Expected Results: The status/link overlay should preserve its position at the bottom left corner of the content. You guys just can't leave the anchor target URL alone, can't you? :) First it was moved away from the status bar, on the grounds that it eats up 8 vertical pixels (leaving an empty, unused Add-on bar which uses the same amount of space). Then the target link URL was displayed in the location bar, right-aligned (bad idea). Then users complained, and it was moved back to the lower left corner. Phew (albeit into an overlay of its own).
Please search before filing bugs, thanks!
