User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.18) Gecko/20110320 SeaMonkey/2.0.13 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.18) Gecko/20110320 SeaMonkey/2.0.13 When you launch MailNews and have multiple e-mail accounts set to retrieve upon MailNews open, SeaMonkey presents a password prompt for each account. This results in a multitude of password prompts layered on the screen. That is normal behavior. The problem is that the focus is screwed up. After all the password prompt dialogs appear, none of them have focus. Also, after you enter a password in the topmost prompt and press return focus is again lost. This requires that you click into each password prompt dialog. What should be happening is that immediately after opening MailNews and all the prompts appearing, the topmost prompt should have focus and be able to be typed into immediately. After pressing Enter for that prompt the next dialog in the layer should have focus and be able to be typed into immediately. Netscape Mail worked just like I describe above. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Define multiple e-mail accounts in MailNews that do not have stored passwords and are set to 'Check for new mail at startup' in the account settings of each. 2.Launch MailNews. Observe multiple password prompt dialogs open up immediately, layered upon one another. 3.Observe that NONE have immediate focus. 4.Click in the topmost prompt and enter password in it and press Enter. 5.Observe that focus is again lost and no password prompt dialogs are accepting input until you click into the next prompt dialog. Actual Results: After step 2 no prompt dialog has focus. Problem #1. After step 4 focus is again lost instead of falling to the next prompt dialog. Problem #2. Expected Results: After step 2 focus should automatically be in the password entry field of the topmost password prompt dialog box. After step 4 focus should automatically be in the password entry field of the (next) topmost password prompt dialog box.
This has applied to all v2.x versions of SeaMonkey I have used, including the latest, 2.0.13.
