See bug 638756 for example.  The bug assignee's name include ":heycam".  The following query should list that bug, among others: <https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/buglist.cgi?quicksearch=ALL+%40heycam> but currently it does not.

Well, maybe at least the @ alias should. I'm not so sure if explicitly saying assi: should do that.

Why not?  I wouldn't expect those two to act differently...

  Well, it's something I'd have to think about, but my concern is implementation consistency. (The boolean charts and Quicksearch working the same way, or at least predictably and without surprises.) I also only have your request here for QS to search the realname, and I don't think anybody else has made that request in all the many years QS has been in use, so I'm not sure whether or not it is the behavior that users would expect.
