In the new rapid development cycle, users at any given time slice will have a different UI depending on what channel they're on -- e.g. at some point nightly channel users have firefox 7, experimental channel users have firefox 6, beta channel users have firefox 5, and release channel users have firefox 4.
The update channel setting becomes a very important factor in determining what the user is looking at, so it should be part of the Test Pilot metadata so we can tell those users apart when analyzing data.
Verified that the data we want is still in the app.update.channel pref.
