enable pref. (was already r+ by Mark Finkle)
what this pref exactly doing for Qt port? I'm enabling this for mc/mb tip and nothing happens... is this depends on anything?

See:
http://mxr.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/source/netwerk/base/src/nsIOService.cpp#867
http://mxr.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/source/netwerk/base/src/nsIOService.cpp#1096
So without managing the offline state we do not use the autodial, which mean we do not request connection.

I'm wondering why this is not enabled for android... is there are some other way to manage that?

duno does not look like they use autodial mechanism to do the job but can push most stuff to android's responsiblity.
on meego applications need to do more.
