Bryan - Can you let us know where we will need copy in the product besides the name e.g., description, instruction, etc. Matej/John - We need to finalize the name of F1, likely "Share" but need to discuss and make final decision

Because this is a much different feature than other Firefox features I feel we're going to need a bit of a landing page to help explain what it is and what it does. There are a lot of questions about privacy and how to get setup and started; we'll also likely be the only mainstream browser with a feature of this type. I was thinking something similar to this sync page http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/mobile/sync/ One final note is that we've been building F1 as a services not only for other browsers (we have an experimental extension to google chrome) but for web sites to use as well. To keep a more neutral feel we've been using Mozilla instead of Firefox as the lead brand. i.e. Mozilla Share instead of Firefox Share. Branding inside of Firefox could of course be different but I wanted to make everyone aware of our intentions.

I know the name hasn't be confirmed yet, but I wanted to flag the phrase "Mozilla Share" to see if anyone thinks it could be misconstrued (as in owning a share of something rather than the act of sharing).

Bryan, when will you need the landing page referred to in comment #1? Seems like something that would need its own separate bug if I'm understanding correctly.

(In reply to comment #5) > Bryan, when will you need the landing page referred to in comment #1? Seems > like something that would need its own separate bug if I'm understanding > correctly. That's a good idea, could you file a bug for me since I have no idea where that gets filed. I could use help with planning the landing page, I'm assuming it would be needed for the initial launch w/ the FF6 final release.
I can file, Slater let us know if there is a template you want us to follow. Bryan, we should discuss also what kind of content we want besides copy e.g., video, etc.
For Comment 6 created 649851 For this bug, fyi, Matej, Slater and I are meeting on Friday to discuss the name, and we'll reach out to Bryan when we have options.
As the name, let's move forth with "Share" with the caveat that as the feature evolves and gets more functionality that the overall "Social" aspect of Firefox might get another name and "Share" would be one feature of that but until we have a more robust offering we want to stick with the name that is obvious and true to what the feature does.

FYI bug 651555 is a services ops bug for setting up oauth apps on the various services. Part of that setup inludes (for some services) a description of the app that may get surfaced. As well, for Facebook, there will be a public application page that is created.

Just wanted to note that in bug 651576 we're going to go with share.services.mozilla.com as the domain name. Most people aren't likely to ever see that domain name but I wanted to share anyway. (In reply to comment #10) > Part of that setup inludes (for some services) a description of the > app that may get surfaced. As well, for Facebook, there will be a public > application page that is created. Facebook requires an App page, currently for F1 it looks like this: http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=173375079345318&sk=info Shane noted in bug 648894 about the icon dimensions required for that page. If anyone would like to look around the App page to see what is possible just friend me on Facebook ( http://www.facebook.com/clarkbw - yes we have to be friends :) ) and I'll add you to the developers so you can see all the options App pages have. Lastly, do we have anyone who runs our Mozilla Facebook properties? As you can see from the App page there are a number of comments on the wall and we haven't been attending to them like we should. Who should take over this, if anyone?

Not sure if he's the guy who should take over this or not, but William Reynolds manages the main Firefox page on FB...probably best to ping him directly.
