User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0
See below.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set browser.urlbar.autoFill to true in about:config
2. Start typing a URL in the AwesomeBar that you've been to before, so Firefox autofills the URL in the AB. For example, type "g" so "google.com" is automatically entered (and selected) in the AB by Firefox.
3. Type the next character in the URL that was autofilled; so for example if you've typed "g" and "google.com" was autofilled and selected, type "o".
Actual Results:
The selection in the AwesomeBar is briefly (but noticeably) unselected after typing a character, and then reselected quickly afterwards.
Expected Results:
In my opinion it would be better if something could be done to prevent the flashing/blinking from occurring, like how it is in Opera, Chrome, etc.

Reporter -> Is this still an issue with Firefox 9.0.1? How about with the latest nightly?

Hi Tim, yes it's still an issue with 9.0.1 (as is bug 649004). Haven't tried the latest nightly yet.

I haven't been able to replicate on my system.

Tried it in Safe Mode, still happens. Then I created a new profile, used that, and it still happens then too.

Nothing jumps out to me in the about:support.
Is this still happening with Firefox 10.0.1 for you?
Can you try and capture a screen cast of the issue?

Hi, sorry for not responding. This seems to have been fixed in a recent version. I won't mark it as resolved in case you want to leave it open.

the autofill implementation changed a bit, so no point in keeping this open.
