If you click the checkboxes the effect is the same in IE whether parentNode or
offsetParent used. In Mozilla only parentNode works properly.

Reporter do you think you are seeing bug 34398? Please read the bug carefully as
its summary has shifted with time. I'm not good enough at this stuff to know if
it's a dup, but it sure looks like it.

Sorry, after a discussion in a mozilla newsgroup it was suggested that I file a
bug. I thought I had looked at all bugs whose summary contained offsetParent but
obviously not carefully enough.
