Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:2.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0

When the about:home page is open, clicking "Restore Session" *after* selecting Tools -> Clear Recent History -> Clear all still opens last viewed site.

Observed on FF4, Windows XP x86, but likely affects all platforms.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Visit any website.
2. In the same tab, Navigate to about:home either by typing it into the address bar or clicking the home page icon
3. Select Tools -> Clear Recent History; select "Everything" to clear, click "Clear Now"
4. Click Restore Session button on currently open about:home page.

Actual Results:
opens last viewed page in that tab.

Expected Results:
No action (stays on about:home) or perhaps notice that there is no session to restore.

A user would not expect their last viewed page to be available after clearing their history, the Restore Session button notwithstanding.
Edit: only reproducible when "Restore Session" button is present on about:home page. When that button is present, the steps outlined apply and the unexpected result of being able to access a previously-viewed page after clearing history occurs.
Hmm, that seems reasonable. Marking [good first bug] in case anybody wants to pick it up since I don't have the time this second.

It would be good to get this into Firefox 6 so if nobody steps up, I'll take it.

tracking-firefox flags aren't for suggesting something is important. If you think it's important, work with the leads of that module to get it prioritized.
Marking as NEW based on comment 2.

This is just a part of the problem that should be addressed. Removing the button may be "hard", but we can talk about that in bug 644998.
