We need to localize the copy of the following page: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/webhero
Note: the page design is currently being revamped to facilitate the l10n's work.
This page's l10n process will contain 3 parts:
- page copy (SVN - when page l10n design ready)
- default email pop-up (etherpad: http://etherpad.mozilla.org:9000/hMbJsxD6rc)
- PC and MAC "how to install Firefox 4" PDFs (format tbd by Pascal)
> Guidelines & tips
The idea behind the copy is that by helping someone upgrade to Firefox 4, you
are doing the Web good (because Firefox is good for the web!). There is no need
to keep the term "Team Firefox" unless it makes sense in your locale (reminder: the term "Team Firefox" goes beyond the idea of a team, it is also and mostly about expressing a preference and showing your support for a team / group, which is often a meaning of the term that gets lost in translation).

Following conversations on bug 654244, here are the links to the SUMO content that will replace the pdfs:
Kadir tells me it is up-to-date (apart from some screenshots which we won't have any time soon).
Here are the links:

Language should be adapt to user's system language automatically.

It appears that several string got broken and reverted to English:
1. headline
FIREFOX 4 + YOU = AWESOME!
You already know how awesome Firefox 4 is. You experience it every day. But not everyone is there yet. Some people need a nudge in the right direction. And that's where you come in.
2. Checklist
- Install Firefox 4 on their computer.
- Send them a how-to-install video for Mac or PC. Or show them PDF instructions for Mac or PC.
- Show them the features on your computer or send them a video.
Note: this copy does not work for non en-US locales anyway and needs to be changed (there are not PDFs or video nor tour pages available). There should be only 2 items. These should read as follows:
- Install Firefox on their computer
- Send them instructions on how to install Firefox on Mac or PC.
3. CTA
I upgraded a friend to Firefox 4!
Note: we need to remove "4" here.
Also, the CTA is different on en-US ("Share Firefox with someone right now!"). I would rather use a similar CTA rather than "I upgraded a friend..." which is far more passive.
Pascal, I realize these changes are an additional strain on the l10n team but can you provide timeline on when you think we can get this modified? We need to finish this work before we can move on.

Greg,
wondering if you saw http://matejnovak.com/2011/05/10/owning-awesome/
the US English slang term "Awesome" is not translating well into many languages.
we should attempt to figure out and provide alternatives that we recommend localizers use when translating the text above. There were a couple of good suggestions on the blog post comment.
alternatives “superb” and “wonderful”.

this was done last year (/ex: http://www.mozilla.org/fr/firefox/webhero/), the pages are still online for en-US and locales but I am not sure that campaign is still relevant though. If you want a redirect please open a new bug.
