From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/4.72 [en] (X11; U; Linux 2.4.0-test10 i686) BuildID: Mozilla 0.7 (build ID 2001010517) Are there any plans to support insert/overstrike mode in Mozilla E-Mail composer? It's always in insert mode and ignores any toggle to the insert key on the keyboard. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open Mail/New Msg 2.Type some text in the body of the message 3.Move cursor to middle of word 4.Hit "Insert" on keyboard 5.Type some more text Actual Results: New text is inserted in middle of word. Expected Results: When in overstrike mode, the text would be replaced.

beppe, akkana: does the mozilla editor support this feature? I couldn't find it. it would be a editor bug not a mailnews bug. Once editor supported this, we could use it in html msg compose. cc'ing ducarroz and varada, who are the msg compose guys.

I have no plans to do this during this lifetime. It's worth noting that 4.x does not support this either. Clearing off my radar cuz I have too many bugs crawling all over my body.
