When I'm browsing through my history in search of some page with some content, I might not know which page exactly it is, so I want to be able to open multiple links from my history to see. Unfortunately, every time I open a new link from the history, it resets back to "Today" and changes the sort order to "Visit Date". It doesn't make sense to change the visible history list and search order every time someone clicks on a link in their history.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open History (via Library window)
2. Click on a previous day (Yesterday)
3. Sort by 'Location'
4. Click on a random item in the list.
5. Go back to the Library window to find another link.
Actual Results:  
It always goes back to 'Today' and sorts by Visit Date after every click within my history list.

Expected Results:  
It shouldn't change the history back to 'Today' and it shouldn't reset the sort order.

Does the issue still occur if you start Firefox in Safe Mode?

Confirmed. After sorting the items and going to another item from the Library and coming back, the sorting disappears. This applies not only to History but also Bookmarks.
