Here's what caused the crash:
1.) get groups
2.) slowly type in alt.fan.firesgn-thtre
3.) group appears, click subscribe.
4.) group name appears in subscribed groups (so far, so good!)
5.) click on alt.fan.firesgn-thtre. Mozilla crashes (build 2002020620)
with message below: (damn!)
Win 98, 128megs ram, intell pIII 750.
MOZILLA caused an invalid page fault in
module MORK.DLL at 015f:604c10b6.

Restarting Mozilla: the newsgroup was there and I could select it. However,
(related?) Moz is not getting all the current messages in this group (as
compared to N4.7 and IE).

Reporter : obviously your buildID is incorrect, but it if I parse it correctly,
it's really 2000020620. This is extremely old. The alt crasher has been fixed in
mozilla0.7. Please download it, or get a mozilla nightly build at
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/nightly. Thanks!

I tested today, Jan 16th on build 2001011604 on Windows 2000, and I only get two
postings, and no crash at all. How many messages were there supposed to be when
you filed this?

This has been fixed in another bug, and does work with a fresh profile on a new
nightly. Let's mark it WORKSFORME, feel free to reopen if you disagree.
