From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux 2.4.0-ac4 i686; en-US; 0.7) Gecko/20010105 BuildID: 2001010517 Sometimes when clicking the close icon on a browser window to a reply comment that I've opened in a new window from a discussion on http://slashdot.org , Mozilla will terminate with "1473 Segmentation Fault". Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: Go to http://slashdot.org and open one of the articles in a new window. Now open one of the replies in a new window. Click the close box on the window containing the reply. Lather, rinse, repeat. Sometimes Mozilla will get "1473 Segmentation Fault". This doesn't happen everytime on Slashdot, but does occasionally, and I haven't seen it happen on any other site. I've been using Mozilla 0.7 for most of my browsing for a few days, and the Slashdot crashes were the first problems I've had with it. Actual Results: Mozilla terminates unexpeectedly and the message "1473 Segmentation Fault" is printed to the terminal window I started it up from. Expected Results: The window should close and the rest of Mozilla should stay running. Slackware 7.1 install on a 667 MHz Pentium III machine. Select Gnome for the desktop environment (Gnome 1.2 I think) I'm using Sawfish 0.28 (rep 0.11.3) for my window manager Linux kernel 2.4.0-ac4 You can get the "ac" kernels from: http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/alan/2.4/ These are patches off of the 2.4.0 release kernel for testing of bugfixes before they are released as official kernel versions. XFree86 4.0.2 ATI XPert 2000 video card (ATI Rage 128 class) with accellerated driver in X. Logged into the internet via PPP and a 56k Hayes accura external modem.
This may be a dup of bug 62643. Michael, could it be that this only happens when you close the window while some of the images on the page aren't finished loading? Changing component to same as of bug 62643.
