UPDATE 2: Coming up next is MDN 0.9.5 in June , which will include some changes to the MDN home page layout, a refresh of the Demo Studio design, as well as the launch of our monthly Demo Studio developer challenges, which we can use your help with! 

The developer engagement team needs to come up with a good name for the developer challenges, which we hope to do monthly around Web technology features or developer themes (CSS animation, HTML5 games, mobile browsing, etc.). Please brainstorm on some ideas for a naming our contest and add them to this etherpad: http://etherpad.mozilla.com:9000/demochallenges Your help is greatly appreciated! ;-)

Matej:  Let us know if you have any questions to help get the creative juices flowing.  Hopefully the info above gives you a good idea of what we're trying to do with the developer challenges. Matej: It'll be great to have a name finalized by next week.  5/12 would be ideal, so we can make tweaks to the initial design direction we go with for the challenge page.

Matej:  Sorry, after my initial meetings with our designer Matt, it looks like we need to get a name together earlier than I thought.   Any chance we can bang this out by tomorrow or Monday?

So far, I think Developer Derby is the front runner based on our ideas so far... and here is what Matt has said about the early design concept he is exploring:

"I was initially inspired by the Derby idea, which ties well into the hotrod look and feel, and that led me to think of possibly playing off some kind of a rugged hotrod garage look in the California desert...utilizing a bit of a distressed look on some of the design elements and making use of some of the neutral desert colours as background elements."

Hopefully that is helpful to come up with a few naming options to go along with Developer Derby, so we can have a quick vote and pick one early next week.

Hey, I added a bunch of names to the etherpad. I still really like Developer Derby, but I also quite like Code Play from my new stuff. Have a look and let me know if you think there's enough to choose from. Happy to keep going if you need.

Thank Matej.  As I noted in the email, I think we're good with brainstorming.  And I think we're close to picking a winner.
