(This is feature parity with 4.x. Whether this feature is important is correct
is arguable.)
I typically set up the mail client to bcc: myself on all outgoing messages.
This lets me see my replies inline with incoming mail in my inbox, and also
gives me a reciept, of sorts. They showed up in my mailbox as from myself, to
whoever the recipient of the sent mail was.
In 4.x, if I replied reply-all to one of these, the recipient became the to: and
I ended up in the cc: field. This made it easy for me to send replies to my own
messages; nice if the recipient uses threading.
In Mozilla, the new message shows up as to: myself, and I have to go in and fix
the fields before sending it.

i thought that in netscape 4.7 if you hit reply to all, the recipients became
to, and the sender is removed from the e-mail, and if there is a bcc for all
e-mails sent out, then the sender is bcc as usual.
this is how my netscape 4.7 works, and it is the way i like it, and i wish
mozilla worked the same way.
i also which that mozilla would do something slightly different. if there is the
setting to bcc all outgoing messages, make that bbc address always appear at the
top.
on new messages it is the first e-mail address, but on others it is not.
this way, if you add an e-mail address on a reply, it is not automatically a
bcc, and it has to be changed, because the last e-mail in the list was a bcc.
another thing, that may work better would be to just never have the bcc
displayed in the to section of the screen if it is a setting to always be done.
i would actually prefer that as an option because then there will not be this
extra e-mail address that is always there jumbling the list up, confusing my
eyes at first glance.

If I add myself as a bcc in an email I am sending, I do not get that email back to me. I used to get the email back, but have not lately.

I'm not sure I understand the purpose of this bug report, but if i do, this is resolved by the reply-to-self == followup functionality that we have since thunderbird2.
