Still reproducing on the latest Nightly build.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Fennec app
2. Tap on URL Bar
3. Tap on Magnify Glass button
4. Tap on any search engine
Actual result:
A new blank tab is opened, without loading the selected search engine at step 4.

We're tracking this for Firefox 9. We need to know if it happened in older versions (look like it does) and/or if it is a regression in 9. We'll track while we wrap our minds around it.
We are tracking this for Fx9...do we still need to? Is there work to be done here or can we ship as-is?

Using 9.0b6-candidates (build #1), I am unable to reproduce this anymore (at least using the site in comment #0).
Using 8.0 yields the same result; not seeing the error.
For what it's worth, I came across it on Fennec Native (without reliable steps to reproduce) at bug 704121.
I suggest not tracking this for 9.0.
