This used to work before (build 2001011420), but now (build 2001011720 on NT4)
it's broken:
1. Enter some site which gives a "401 Authentication required", like
http://portfolio.onvista.de/user/depot.mpl
2. Watch the login dialog popping up: it's too small, the ok and cancel buttons
at the bottom are partly obscured.
3. Go to Edit / Prefs / Adv / Passwords and select "use encryption when storing
passwords. Choose a password when asked for it.
4. Close the browser, restart, repeat step1
5. Watch the popup asking for the local password: it's also too small, the ok
and cancel buttons at the bottom are partly obscured.

correctly)

Build 2001011704, Win98, does indeed show this problem when visiting the
supplied URL. Using Modern theme, in case the theme matters.

Another example, but somewhat different:
Open Mail/News, select some POP account, hit "Get Msg" (Ctrl-T), and look at
the POP password dialog which appears: it is also cut off, but this time at
the right side, not at the bottom. But I don't know if this is also a recent
regression.
Boris: I think problems with these dialogs tend to be very platform specific.

Joe, this is the bug I was telling you about. Any ideas? (since you did well on
our header code in mail/news)

Dan, will your quasi-hack in that other bug fix this too possibly?

It sounds like the same problem. In fact, Stephan's POP password dialog mentioned
above *is* bug 76350. And the alerts mentioned in the first comment are also ones
that I've seen become fixed with my quasi-hack. But I had pegged a checkin made
in April for the cause of that problem, and this bug hails from January.
A fix has been checked in. I can only suggest trying these alerts with a recent
build.

Oops. I was thinking of a different bug in yesterday's comment. Yes, this
probably is the same as bug 76350. Still wants a doublecheck, just to be sure.

me believes it's a dup, so marking as such
