User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1 I go to address http://web.archive.org/web/20090627042111/http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/application_updates/ . I hover over the link "Final Cut Pro 6.0.6". The link address shown is abbreviated with "..." although I have plenty of space. I want to see the entire link when there is enough space. The link must not be abbreviated when there is enough space to show it entirely. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: See in "Details". Actual Results: See in "Details". Expected Results: See in "Details". Firefox 4.0.1 Windows.

Reproduced. Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:6.0a1) Gecko/20110521 Firefox/6.0a1 I think you'll never a get at status bar that covers more than half of the screen. If you have a link at the bottom of the screen and try to click it you will find that the status bar shows up on the other half of the screen, so that the link is always selectable. So I guess that's the background to that behavior.

Confirming. This may be an intentional design decision.

(In reply to comment #2) I see. So do this hiding if the link is in the critical position, that is at the bottom. But this is the exception. In the general case, that is all the remainder of the visible height, there is no reason for this hiding, so please show the info. Thanks.

(In reply to comment #6) > The duplicated bug 660172 has this Expected Results: In Google Chrome > there is special timeout about some sec after which URL will be shown fully I use Chrome too. This is better than never, but still annoying. If the full address can be shown after while, it can be shown at once. Can, and must, in my humble opinion.
Don't forget that this bug can help malicious man to hide e.g. XSS payload. So it is security flaw in browser.
