We want to update the FR page for 5.0.
I'd like to change the video offered on the left panel to be the "A Different Kind of Browser" video.
The copy that goes on top should be changed to "Step 1: Meet Mozilla".
The remaining video could likely be the same, although to make the page feel like there's been an update, it might be worth changing the "static" screen on the left video box to the crop circle to feel more fresh?

Spoke with Tara, and what we'd like to do for the crop circle image (attached) is fade it out so the black text on top "step 1..." is readable.
The video can be found here http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/video/?video=brand
This needs to be ready for 5.0 push.

I'm not totally following the direction in comment #1...can you elaborate? Or, just come find me in the office and we can discuss.
Also, not really sure we should say "Meet Mozilla" in step 1. For one, the video is still ostensibly about Firefox. Also, we want to emphasize the Firefox brand here, and adding Mozilla to that spot may cause unnecessary confusion.

So the static image for the box on the left should probably be the faded image of the crop circle in the brand video so that the black text will stand out more on top of the static image.

Excellent point. Maybe we keep the same text but just remove the "4"?

I actually think we can keep the static image as it is, just remove the 4 from the text. That way we have a nice clean box that matches the site design and reads "Meet Firefox"...people click it and are treated to an inspiring video about how awesome Firefox is.

This bug seems to be to update the video on the Firefox 5 firstrun page, but that page doesn't exist yet (I don't think?). Is there another bug?

Ah, it does not--can you help with that? It would basically take what we currently have on 4.0, with the small changes outlined by Slater above.

Yes, I can help set this up.
I see how that the Firefox 5 Beta channel seems to use /en-US/firefox/5.0/firstrun/ (and 5.0/whatsnew).
The actual files for the beta firstrun page live in a 5.0beta dir, and the 5.0 url is redirected via .htaccess.
I trust we'll just build out the final 5.0 pages in the /5.0/firstrun/ location and remove the beta redirects during final release?

Sounds good to me.

This is setup in trunk in r89973. Redirect to beta firstrun pages removed in trunk in r89974.
Please review here: http://www-trunk.stage.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/5.0/firstrun/

Merged r89973 from trunk to stage in r90224..
Note that this merges the new page to stage, but NOT the change in 5.0beta redirect, which can't go live until Firefox 5 launch day. I've filed Bug 663184 to get this .htaccess change into production on launch day.
