66026 - Newly arrived message does not display auto.in collapsed thread

Mac (2001-01-19-08 Mtrunk)
steps:
1. Launch Messenger
2. Read all messages
3. Select View|Message|Thread and View|Message|Unread
4. Collape the threads
5. Close the window and reopen it.
6. The message window is empty
7. From another machine, reply to one of the threaded message and send.
8. Also send a newly created message

Actual result:  The message from step 7 (reply to thread message) does not 
display because it is hidden in the thread that was already read.
I have to click on the thread icon in order to make it appear.
The newly created message (from step 8) is displayed.

Expected result: I should not have to click on the Thread icon to make the 
unread thread to be displayed in the thread pane.

This occurs on Mac only.
Linux and win32 are fine.

This bug is targeted at a Mac classic platform/OS, which is no longer supported
by mozilla.org. Please re-target it to another platform/OS if this bug applies
there as well or resolve this bug.

I will resolve this bug as WONTFIX in four weeks if no action has been taken.
