the Message Filters do not have an action item that allows an incoming email to be archived.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Setup a new Message Filter

Select criteria to match against


Actual Results:  
In the actions its possible to delete, move it, copy it, change various flags etc but not to archive the email.

Expected Results:  
It would be great if an option can be added to the actions list that would archive the email, and honour the granularity settings for that mailbox.

As I have multiple IMAP accounts setup in my Thunderbird it goes slow many times. I do archiving manually which is time taking task. Automating archiving through filters would be great feature to include in to Thunderbird.
I see this bug is not assigned to anyone yet. I hope this will be assigned to someone soon as when finished this feature will be used by many users.

I also asked the same thing and they closed the request as a duplicate, referring me to this post... I understand, with all due respect to the programmers, but 13 years have passed since the initial request...
