Due to numerous security vulnerabilities in the communitystore.mozilla.org website, it was taken offline and redirected. A decision was made to retire the website and perform all of the normal site retirement steps.
Discussion between rysny and Tara:

The Community Store was a gallery of all of the designs submitted to the sold via Zazzle at http://www.zazzle.com/mozilla

It hosts 8 pages of designs. The remaining images were hosted on our version of the store.

The site, as it currently stands, will take too much time to fix given the identified security needs and the other items that would need to be fixed in the process (PHP updates, etc.).

There are also discussions around the company about consolidating to one store. Please see:
http://etherpad.mozilla.com:9000/MozillaStore

My recommendation is to retire this site. If the site is booted back up, the design should be updated and it should be built atop Playdoh.

Tara is on board with this decision.

Before we proceed, we need to ensure that:

1. This will not disrupt the service of the data store above.

2. Save all of the design submissions that have been submitted; preferably with the collected name, title and email address associated with the design.

3. Save all of the design submissions that have been submitted but not yet moderated; preferably with the collected name, title and email address associated with the design.
Tara: There was talk about a new combined store that will be for all locales and all purposes. Is that initiative still alive?
Not that I'm aware of. John Slater can speak to the latest update on the Store initiatives.

Not really...the long term plan is to turn Join Mozilla into our main public-facing way of getting merch. I'm fine with EOL'ing the community store if you think that's best.
Yeah, my recommendation is to EOL communitystore, and wait for a future project to combine all "store" efforts. Is there any non-PII data on communitystore that you want to keep or can it all go away? It is currently redirected, but I don't like coding and data sitting on the server for no good reason. I could get the data exported and sanitized for a future needed if you want. Let me know.
If you could export the actual designs that were uploaded, that would be great. Otherwise it's fine to shut down.
Working with IT to get the designs exported.
John: We got the designs. Do you want me to burn them to a CD for you or where do you want them stored?
CD is great, thanks Chris!
John: I have the burned CD with all of the designs, do you want me to send it up to the SF office?

I'll just grab it from you next time I'm in MV. Thanks!
I just get a 403 Forbidden error message now for http://communitystore.mozilla.org/.
John Slater: Should we redirect this anywhere now or wait for the future community store to be launched?
We don't have any plans for this URL that I know of...I thought we had redirected it to the dead sites blog?

I'd be up for just pointing it back to mozilla.org for the time being...better than a 403 error.

We didn't write a blog post on this. I will file an IT bug to have this domain redirected to the Mozilla.org homepage.
Seems fixed to me.
