A stray fclose() in CodegenLIR.cpp cauess glibc malloc to brutally slay the process when the underlying memory is double free()'d by fclose().
Linux glibc usually has quite trigger-happy default settings for detection of malloc errors, so this might not have been seen on other platforms.
