Does the issue still occur if you start Firefox in Safe Mode? https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode
Maybe you're in caret browsing mode. You can turn it off using (fn+)F7.

Hi,

There is no other occurrence of this bug and it does not seems to be reproducible, I think this bug can be marked as closed

This happens for me on 67.0b9; Build ID: 20190408123043; User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:67.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/67.0.

I believe this started happening for me when Firefox automatically updated to 67.0b7. Happens on both my desktop and laptop, both running Windows 1809.

I was stupidly in Caret Browsing mode. I tried that by pressing Fn+F7, but my laptop doesn't have a function on F7, so I just needed to press F7. Thank you!

Hi,
It's still happening, even in Troubleshooting mode (writing this comment in Troubleshooting mode).
The cursor's blinking in the weirdest places.
I'm in Big Sur now, but it was the same on Catalina.
Firefox: 89.0.2 (64-bit)
Big Sur: 11.4 (20F71)

This also started happening to me when Firefox automatically upgraded to 67.0b7.

Severity: normal → S3

Yep, it's happening again.
The cursor sometimes visible and blinking, even when watching online videos in full screen.
Firefox v110.0/64 bit

Had the same issue on my Beta v114 installation. But turned out I had activated caret browsing mode (Alt Gr + F7) as stated in comment #2. Did not know that the mode persisted after restart.

Anybody experiencing this, press F7 and click No to make sure you are not in Caret mode.

And as to the above comment, sorry, ChatGPT cannot help with bug reports.
