All HTML emails I receive from e.g. tb-planning@mozilla.org contain an an attachment named "Part 1.2" with the footer:
--===============0853635855==
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit
Content-Disposition: inline

Thunderbird shouldn't indicate that the message has an attachment even if that footer is indeed, technically, an attachment, as opposed to plain-text messages from the same list. Right now, the attachment column is an indicator who uses HTML for sending emails or not.

This is dupe of Bug 438783 or Bug 436555, but first bug is marked as dupe of something else but only bug I remember which is mention Part 1.2 attachments. Second bug also superseded by bug 282068 as per latest comments. So I can't seems figure out which bug will get rid of these nameless attachemtns

The exact symptom you describe will be fixed by bug 564423. I shall post an updated patch there soon.
