In zimbra [~mozilla.com] I created two subfolders for collecting bugs.
bugzilla & bugzilla::makefiles
Two mail filters were setup to redirect email into these folders:
filter name: bugzilla-makefiles
From: bugzilla-daemon
Subject: makefile
Action: File into folder 'makefiles'
Filter: bugzilla
From: bugzilla-daemon
Action: File into folder 'bugzilla'
Several messages have been filtered into the new folder and are visible using the zimbra web interface (https://mail.mozilla.com) but my bugzilla folders are not visible from thunderbird.
Behavior has been observed on two different machines: linux, mac
I have tried to delete and re-create the account from the "Account Settings" menu to see if that might change behavior but the folder is still not visible.

Zimbra doesn't support Xlist.
You'll need to subscribe to the folders. right click on the account name and choose manage subscription.

XList is only indirectly relevant, in the sense that we will use XLIST if it's present, but you can also just tell Thunderbird to use LIST instead of LSUB, by going into account settings, server settings, advanced button, and uncheck "only show subscribed folders". But that might get you some weird zimbra folders in Thunderbird that you don't care to see, in which case, using subscription and subscribing to folders per Ludo's advice is the way to go.

Thanks, adding subscriptions did the trick.
