There was a glorious period in Firefox history when I could never lose my session of open tabs. Sadly, that period has now ended, because twice now I've lost my session by restarting, opening a page, and the restarting again. Once I've done that the "restore session" feature will just give me that one page and I can never get back to all my open tabs and half-written comments in text boxes and everything. This makes me very sad.
Note that in the two cases that I've done this so far, the "opening a page" part was done by clicking on a link in another app which automatically opened Firefox and opened the page, and the "restarting" part was done by rebooting the operating system/ Presumably if I were using Firefox directly I would have noticed that I needed to restore session before I exited Firefox for the second time.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Load up dozens of tabs of things you need to do, or to read, or half-written writings you need to finish.
2. Close Firefox, open a new page, close Firefox.
3. Feel sad.
Actual Results:
Now "restore session" just gives me that one stupid page.
Expected Results:
I expect it to behave like it used to (Firefox 4, wasn't it?) that my old session with all my state cannot be accidentally deleted.
Kept all my state until such a time as I explicitly told it to destroy that state.

You can set Firefox to always restore your session: Settings/Options > General > When Firefox starts: Show windows and tabs from last time
