Xprint using Linux/Solaris using Mozilla 2001-01-24-08-Mtrunk does not print
http://puck.informatik.med.uni-giessen.de/ correctly.
I'll attach a screenshot with Xprint build with XPRINT_ON_SCREEN to avoid
(possibly) buggy PS/PCL drivers...

Uhm... it should exist again... :-)
You've simply hit the two hours where I was doing system administration (removal
of the _big_ RAID... ;-((( ).

The output still has problem but it's much better.
Roland, are you using Solaris 8? I'm not sure the latest
patch for Xprint has been out on sunsolve but it seems that
this bug depends on Xprt side.

I am using latest Xsun patches for Solaris 7 and Solaris 8. All three versions
(incl. X11R6.5.1) of Xprt create a more or less equal output here.
The problem I see here are the gfx widgets not rendered correctly and that the
header/footer text is totally out-of-control (too big, not placed correctly).
Raw guessing (and looking at bug 71669) - I assume this has something to-do with
the box fixes on the PS code (Moz. nativ PS module prints these pages OK, Xprint
module does not).
Question... does Alan.Coopersmith@Eng.Sun.COM have a BugZilla account ? He may
be able to decide whether this is a Xprt bug or not (but it looks is this is a
bug on client-side)...
... do you know a PCL-->image converter ? Maybe it's a bug in Xprt's PS
generation code - which can easily be checked with the PCL or Raster driver...

I can talk to Alan if necessary.
How about providing "Print to Screen" option for
debugging purpose in Mozilla? I think there is
no guarantee Xprt PCL or Raster driver works properly.

1. What about a mailinglist for Xprint issues ?
2. What about asking Alan to hack a small "preview" DDX on Xprt side (e.g.
mapping X calls to X calls like Xnest does) ? Xprt has some unique
features/properties (like font handling) which are not present in
framebuffer-based Xservers (Xsun).

I assume the "blurs" in
http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/showattachment.cgi?attach_id=27571 are the usual
JFIF/DCT artifacts, right ? Do you know whether the 24bit truecolor or the 8bit
pseudocolor visual of Xprt is used for printing ?

Seems it is not possible to mark one bug as a duplicate of two other bugs...
BugZilla only used the first bugid... anyway... bug 77060 will track the
issue... :-)
