Expanding on bug 667459 comment #3, steps to reproduce: 1. Open the Data Manager, e.g., Tools > Cookie Manager > Manage Stored Cookies. 2. Highlight a domain by mouse-click or cursor buttons. 3. Use the Ctrl+A keyboard shortcut, all entries are highlighted but grayed. 4. Use the DEL key, the "Forget" tab opens. With step #3, the expectation would be to see the list focused and all entries appear not grayed out. In step #4, pending bug 667459, the "Are you sure?" dialog is expected to delete all entries. As a different expectation, Ctrl+A might select all domains, but that would be a special case of bug 664574 and (my understanding) difficult to accomplish. Thus, suggestion here to focus the list of entries for all tabs (except the "Permissions" tab where Ctrl+A doesn't do anything) when Ctrl+A is hit on a highlighted domain.
We can only implement one thing for Ctrl+A when a domain is focused, and changing behavior later would be bad. We will bug bug 664574 at some point, Ctrl+A on the domain list should not do anything else until then.

I see your point. One could argue that Ctrl+A shouldn't do anything on the right-hand side then if the focus is on the domain list, but that's again something that would need to be reverted once bug 664574 is approached...
