Details

As part of this project (Bug 653784) we'd like to build add-on install functionality into snippets. Let's build out the functionality to install a restart-less add-on in this bug.

Desired User Experience:
Upon click a add-on is installed without having to leave about:home

Next Steps:
Laura to determine which add-on to use here

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/twitter-address-bar-search/ might be a good choice for an addon. After install it shows a landing page detailing the addon, showing that the addon installed successfully and how to use it.

Technically, this snippet needs the same treatment as the persona snippet; as long as there's a link to the xpi file from a whitelisted domain it can be installed from an iframe, so we'll need to put it somewhere whitelisted.

Once we get a design the snippet will follow quickly.
Agreed - Twitter Address Bar Search would be a perfect choice.
Closing to focus on other functional snippets this quarter instead.
