Changing the text size on the url provided causes the <pre> (down off the screen a bit) to suddenly stop floating on the right edge and render as a normal <pre>. Notice that the image is not affected by the reflow. All attempts at making a minimal test case have failed. The document is a valid HTML 4.01 document. It doesn't render correctly in netscape 4.7x. IE 5 handles the font size change correcty. Expectied Result: sections in <pre> tags rendered as a float and in smaller font. Actual Result: sections in <pre> rendered in smaller font, but not as a float.
this is the right bug for a reflow specialist

Actually, the document is _not_ a valid html 4.01 document (hypermart attaches all sorts of crap at the end). But a valid version of the document demonstrates the same problem as the original.
oooh, hadn't thought about that. But yes, the problem does still happen on a local copy.
Build 2000022705 kinda works. When I change the font size, the <pre> floater renders as a normal <pre>. However, if I resize the browser window, the <pre> renders as a float again. Hope this helps.

No, this still happens. Go to http://db48x.hypermart.net/floatingpre/example.html, and change the text size, or use one of the alternate stylesheets. Neither should change how the <pre> sections float, but they do. I can give you a picture of it if you still aren't sure you're seeing what I am. This is with build 2001032804, I'll download the very latest tonight, unless I can get it to build again. db48x

This worksforme. The debug stylesheet is missing, so yeah, it stops floating when you switch to it, but changing font sizes and so on shows no problems. Could you attach the screenshot?
That's a before and after when switching text size. When I finish downloading a newer build (15-20 mins) I'll retry it.
cool, you fixed it. Good job.
