This is a version I've been working a bit on, but Rafael was afraid it might be too twitter-like.

Is there a timeline for this? Just curious so I can prioritize with my other projects. Thanks!

I'm not sure if Rafael has one, but I'd like to be getting this onto web pages and into Earlybird before the end of next week.

As a heads up, Engagement work week is next week, so I'm not sure we can meet that deadline. I will try though. Concern being time needed for back and forth on mockups and approvals. Would the week after be ok for finalizing? I can try and get a mockup for end of this week if I shift some priorities. I'll need to confirm a few things.

Let's shoot for that timeline.

Yeah, to add to what Sean said next week isn't doable for a number of reasons. We generally need more than one week notice for a project like this. In this case, we have both the Engagement onsite and a couple of big goal-related projects that need to get wrapped up. Tackling it the week after next sounds good to me, and I'm sure Sean will make it awesome!

I love these! My only remark is about the wing on the chick that feels a bit tucked on, other than that, I think this is perfect!

Hey guys, do you have what you need to close this out?

I think this is good to go. As I mentioned in bug #669353, all I need is a big enough bitmap version with background alpha (and a source graphic is good too, AI I assume, even though svg would be amazing) so I can put together a patch with the proper sizes for all platforms.

I'd like to show these with their associated wordmarks for a final approval. Any word on a final approved channel name here? My reco would be "Aero" as it is similar to Aurora and of course begins with "A". :)

Not yet. We're shying away from Aero as it's too close to Windows Aero and might cause confusion when talking about Aero specific Windows issues i.e. problem with the build or an issue with look and feel on Windows.

ok. Not sure that would be entirely confusing as we'd never refer to this as "Aero" only, and XP is, though still used, an old OS. Ideally it'd be great to have an A word for Aurora similarity and A before B(eta). :) - Ace (Bespin morphed into Ace, but unsure that'd be a major concern as this would always be seen as "Thunderbird Ace" and never "Ace" on its own) - Air (Macbook Air, but again, see above reasoning) - Avian

(In reply to comment #18) > ok. Not sure that would be entirely confusing as we'd never refer to this as > "Aero" only, and XP is, though still used, an old OS. I don't think it would be a mega big issue and the only place it could be confusing is in bugzilla ("Can you make sure this aero patch is ready for Aero").

Hey guys, where do we stand here? Next steps to wrap up?

We can close this bug out. We've got what we need in terms of the original bug and the assets. As far as "Earlybird" as the name, we want to keep that and treat it like how we've had codenames in the past like Lanikai or Miramar. Neither of those were ever referred to as Mozilla Thunderbird Lanikai or Miramar, nor did we have a wordmark for them. They stood on their own and there are many instances where the codename has to standout by itself especially on the Mac. So for instance, app name would be "Earlybird" or previously "Miramar" and that would be prominent. Earlybird would be stronger than anything else right now standing by itself and we have to build for that case rather than for a wordmark which wouldn't be used in many places if at all. I hope that reasoning makes sense. The name Earlybird connotes the right product and purpose for the product. We've already come out with the name and going back with a different name might be harder.

Thanks Rafael. I think further discussion (as needed) on the naming can be taken off this bug :) Closing.
