From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; N; PPC; en-US; m18) Gecko/20010129 BuildID: 2001012908 Mozilla does not handle the send later feature well. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Launch Greatest Mozilla, it goes online and downloads any messages Go offline by clicking on the plug bottom-left Reply to a messages while offline: a compose message window appears and you have to click again on the plug (a bug it is already filed for this I think) When you are finished replying, you clickk on the SEND LATER button, the window closes Go in the FILE MENU and click on SEND UNSENT MESSGES An error appears. The right behaviour would be that Mozilla logs on and then send files. Now, if I go online manually by clicking on the plug AND THEN getting messages AND THEN sending unsent messages, again I get the error dialog. If now I close just the mail window and then reopen it and try again, again the error dialog. If now I QUIT MOZILLA, then relaunch it, then send the unsent messages, the files are sent finally, BUT THEY ARE NOT REMOVED FROM THE UNSENT FOLDER. They repop up again at next relaunching, and are sent again if not previously removed. Expected Results: Just go online and send unsent messages
reassigning to Putterman for triage.

I'm not sure what the state of offline feature implementation is at this point. Will test for no problem sending later in online state, too. Reporter: What is the text of the error message you're seeing?

with build 2001020108 I don't see any error! Mozilla does not go online automatically, but if I go online manually and give File/Send Unsent Messages the files are sent. Thank you
hi 2 all! two additions: 1) from assigned Bug 67309 - there is none offline modus, but the bug occur. 2) i have found a new thing: i had sent one unsent message later with success (i had before sending marked the folder and the mail). after the message was sent i come over it in the sent folder an click on it with the mouse. the error message 'unknown error 80470002' also occurs. please note the differencies: 1) the message was sent as unsent without failure. 2) the error message in the sent folder occurs only one time per click -there isn't nessecarry to restart the hole mozilla. I hope this will help sometimes the hacker who has to solve this. Thanks and Regards! Jan Rasche
Giovanni, can you confirm that it still works for you in Mozilla0.8 or later please? Jan, I'm sorry but I don't understand really well your additional comment (is it just me?). I just tried this on win95 with build 2001021020 and it worked fine. Giovanni, if you can no longer reproduce, please mark this as worksforme (or ask me to do so), thanx. Jan : Please always include your buildID in a comment. If possible get Mozilla 0.8 or a nightly build and use a new profile and see if you can still reproduce your problem (assuming it is a problem). Thank you a lot to both of you! Fabian. Adding myself and bienvenu to CC, cuz he's working on the offline stuff
This doesn't have to do with offine proper - 6.0 had this feature, but didn't have general offline support. My guess is that the unsent mail had the wrong size in the db, which was a bug that was around for a week or two. 80470002 is an error code that indicates we couldn't read all the bytes from a file that we expected to find, IIRC, which usually means the message size stored in the db is greater than the actual size of the message.
hallo, just trying with build 2001020808 and Sending Unsent works for short messages, while with bigger files (200 kb up) nothing happens and I have to terminate Mozilla. Anyway, it does not switch to "online" mode automatically, one has to get new messages and then send. I still don't see any new mac builds after 0209
adding gchan to cc.
can you try with a recent buid (> March 08) as we fixed a network problem. Thanks
