Hello,
Firefox 5.0. Mac OS X 10.6.8.
I create a new Firefox tab. I go to www.google.fr . I enter penguin. I have
the Google Instant search turned off. I press Return. I get the Web results. In the black top bar, I click on Images. I get the Images results. The annoying new Google Images results, with intrusive zoom and pseudo-pages. I want to go back to the Web results, so I press Apple Left (Command Left). This must go back. This does **** in the Google Images results, but does not go back.
I tried a lot of things, including clicking in the page background, but no way to make this keyboard equivalent do its job.
This is a key ;-) feature of all Web browsers. This must work consistently, as expected. Even if some Web designer at Google thinks otherwise.
Thanks for correcting that,
Nicolas
The same behavior can be observed also on Chrome and Safari.
In my opinion this is not a bug but a new Google issue.

It is a bug in Firefox. Or flawed design in Firefox.

Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:8.0a1) Gecko/20110728 Firefox/8.0a1 and also on
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:2.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0
Cmd Left/Right works perfectly.
Could you see if the issue occurs if using an empty testing profile? (Don't install any addons into it)

I have the Flash plugin. I think that's all. No Adobe Reader.
I did not add any Firefox extension.
Reporter, can you please try to reproduce the issue on the latest Firefox beta:

Now I encounter the same bug, on Win Vista, in Firefox 14.0.1, on the page http://fr.scribd.com/doc/120088889/Communique-de-presse-manifestation-du-dimanche-13-janvier-2013 , when I press Ctrl F. Intead of getting the Firefox search, I get the page's search.

same thing happens in chrome and IE. Thus, I doubt this is a browser bug.
