Hi Tara, 

Not super urgent as we cannot do About:home snippets until the sites are updated.
Can we get an about:home snippet icon for Firefox Aurora for Mobile.
Probably pretty similar to this: https://picasaweb.google.com/lforrest/StartPageSnippetIcons?authkey=Gv1sRgCKSU07Gh2cbmeA#5603292608050927266

but with the Aurora icon? Also open to suggestions. 

Deadline: end of next week. july 29th.

LoFo, can we start using larger snippet icon graphics?  I think at this point, we should start exploring that as the icons start to get more complex.  Putting the Aurora logo inside this graphic will just be a blue circle that won't really have the same impact imo.  The FF logo is differnet and it's immediately recognized at even the smallest sizes.  

So, I propose we start breaking away from the 40x50 tiny box that we've been stuck with for these types of snippets (and in general).

Sounds good! In general I think it's great to start exploring here with different graphic treatments and sizes, thanks for asking. 

The only thing to keep in mind is for this icon not to be too overwhelming a visual force on this page. Strike a balance. You guys are great at that so I'm not worried.

Just to add to this, we already have an Aurora snippet I did a while back:

Before we resize them, perhaps chat with shorlander/faaborg about their weight on the about:home page as they created the page and might have insight on the balance.

Makes sense.  Though, we *did* try heavier promos for the dynamic Personas recently.  I think in general we can expand on the graphics and make them a bit bigger without totally overwhleming the space. 

Either way, hopefully Ty can try an option or two in addition to version 1 above and we'll see which feels stronger.

This option does break away from the snippet size that we currently use.

Like the option before, it breaks away from the current snippet image size we use. Not entirely sure if we can do this based on the current snippet build.

i like the option 3 and 4 and we should definitely keep them to promote firefox aurora on desktop. but also wanted to see if we can have a few choices for mobile. thanks.

I'm actually not a big fan of 3 and 4, they feel really heavy to one side for me...  but I like that you're trying something new.  Out of these, I probably would go with  options 1 or 4.  

Grace, in the interest of time, can we go with something basic, perhaps option 1 (but a bigger Aurora logo) and clearly call out "mobile" in the copy? 

In the future, we can try something that has an actual mobile phone graphic (we've got the cool illustrated ones on the site, and we can plop in an Aurora logo into those)

Thanks Ty.  Grace, I'm closing this bug.  I think the cleanest is still Option 1, with potentially Option 4 as something new to try.  Those are the two I like most.
