According to our own Chris Finke:

> The top 17 TLD typos are all variations of .com.
> In order of frequency:

> .com\, .ocm, .con, .cmo, .copm, .xom, ".com,",
> .vom, .comn, .com', ".co,", .comj, .coim, .cpm,
> .colm, .conm, and .coom.

We should correct these just like we attempt to fix some other common URL entry mistakes, seeing as none of these are valid TLDs — although they may become so in the future, but we can keep tabs on that.
"our own" meaning "part of our community", sorry about the imprecision. :)
Alright, I positively love this feature. I type .cpm so much....

And to top it off, I've got a domain hijacker search engine.

Such typos are at least partially covered. At least .vom, .xom, .cpm, and .prg are corrected. I presume by https://searchfox.org/mozilla-central/rev/ed2fc6bdcef6fe27b5588aa5d5891f6792708d09/docshell/base/URIFixup.jsm#683-698. I happened to stumble on the behaviour in Firefox desktop 84.0.2 on Linux https://twitter.com/moreati/status/1353306016713240576

Severity: normal → S3
