Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:5.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/5.0
Build ID: 20110615151330
Steps to reproduce:
Problem started happening following upgrade to Thunderbird 5.0 and Lightning 1.0b4
I opened the calendar window, right clicked on my remote calendar (a Google one through the provider for Google calendar add-on)
and clicked on refresh
(also happens every time it auto refreshes)
Actual results:
the alarm window opened for a split second and closed again
the alarm sounded
Expected results:
I had no alarms set to go off at that time, so the alarm window never should have opened and the alarm never should have sounded
I just added a Facebook birthday calendar into Lightning to further test this. It is in webcal format. (Even though I had to change webcal:// to http:// to make it work)
When I refresh that one, the alarm window does not flash.
Sorry guys, this bug must me related to the Google calendar provider add-on. I will let them know

Actually, this is related to Lightning. Please upgrade to 1.0b5rc3 or wait for the AMO release in the next few days.
See http://weblogs.mozillazine.org/calendar/2011/07/please_try_1_0b5.html

The only thing is, according to the other bug, an empty alarm window opens and has to be closed manually.
In my case, it closes itself right away, causing the "flash"

Same core issue though, the guilty patch was backed out. Please try the 1.0b5 release from addons.mozilla.org
