On Linux, if you enter something into the location bar, the box that appears after entering the first character stays visible even after you enter more characters and the corresponding search results in less entries than the initial search. The left-over box contains no entries other than the 'Search x for "y"' special entry at the bottom. The attached screen shot demonstrate the issue.
The problem exists since SM 2.1 (was not present in SM 2.0) and does not happen on Windows.
