Instant Sync has obsoleted the Sync Now menu item and toolbar button. We can remove it or at least move it to the pref pane (having the button around is still useful for QA and/or power user purposes).

Faaborg suggested that in the first round we disable the button and menu item (making them non-clickable) and show "Synced X minutes ago". In the next release we can remove them, will file a separate bug for that.

we should just say "synced automatically" or "synced," we want to install confidence in the instantaneousness of instant sync

I like "Synced automatically". Of course, this will make the menu about three and a half screens wide in the German locale...

Ah munna WONTFIX this for the moment. I don't think we've got any overwhelming evidence that offering this small piece of user control is detrimental, and it's sure handy for power users and testers.
