Details
The welcome email that a new user gets is misleading and confusing.
"You've been invited to join MDN!" is false, since (most likely) the user was the one who created the account.
There is also a link the "Sign up for MindTouch U", which takes them to a mindtouch.com page. There's no explanation of why an email from mozilla.org would send them to a MindTouch site. Oddly, while that page also has the "Sign up for MindTouch U" call to action, there's no obvious link or form with which to sign up. That's probably all to the good, since it might lead to more emails and confusion. But it's still a pretty poor experience.
This is completely separate from the fact that the email includes the user's plain text password and requires no confirmation. I assume that if we could change that, we would have already.

This bug is obsoleted by Kuma and BrowserID. I'll open a separate bug for sending a welcome email from Kuma.
