Text selecting on this particular link triggers click events on it opening dozens of tabs of the associated link:

What is it about that <a> tag that makes it happen? I can't reproduce on other <a> tags.

I'm able to reproduce this issue on the latest Nightly build.

Simply dropping both handles from any selection above or below onto this particular URL will trigger the behaviour.

Looks like bug 767799 was filed for the native impl. Duping to it, even though it's newer. This bug does have some good test sites and STR in it.
